And Just One More Reminder: This Journal Is Shallow

I've been reading all the erudite posts about writing and I felt I should repeat this for anyone who came in late.

There will be no brilliant, insightful essays here on how to write or how I wrote anything. There will be no progress reports on what I'm writing. There will be only complaints about my mother, tedious discourses on how getting proper eyeglasses will mean fewer headaches--for me, possibly for you, too, but definitely for me--comments on fashion, and occasional enthusiastic appreciations of my son, my husband, and the cat. And my friends.

I am vain as well as shallow and worse, I'm a snob. As I understand it, this makes me a terrific party guest.:) Unless you're serving only white wine at your party. Then I'm insufferable because I'm also a wine snob. If you know what's good for you, you'll get that Liebfraumilch away from me and pour me a full-bodied, chewy red with some peppery notes to it.

(Sorry. I was suddenly channeling my evil twin. We're both shallow and vain but she's drunker.:))

Schmap!

You heard me--Schmap!

Schmap is an piece of free software that acts as a guide for various cities around the world. You load it and explore various features--museums, churches, places of interest. Two of my photos of St. Vitus Cathedral made it into the Schmap Guide to Prague. I'm so pleased.

That's it. That was my day. The rest of it was devoted to getting back home once I had gotten out. It wasn't easy. It was one of those days--late for appointments, the whole Victoria Line suspended, getting on the wrong train twice, crap like that. Honestly, sometimes it really isn't worth getting out of bed.

On the other hand, I haven't had any headaches today. (I think my glasses may have melted onto my ears...)
